week 2

Drawing 01.1.11
We started off drawing our faces this week but in no way a traditional self portrait. We were drawing by the sense of touch so on one hand we had charcoal and the other we were touching our faces and hair. We had our eyes closed as well. We did 3.

The 2nd half of the lesson we had to bring in 5 objects with sentimental value. I started off with an inuit bear sculpture made out of soapstone which I got for my 18th. And started drawing that and continued drawing it from small but rotational with pencils to huge pieces of paper on the floor with sticks, paintbrushes and ink.
I also did a bear on a car with a frosty back windscreen!I love this affect but I wish I had drawn the tail better-and not the way a 3 yr old would have!
Here are some more Blind drawings from this week. Pianists had to do demo's this week, different styles etc.

Films I watched this week include the Banksy film Exit Through The Back Door. I also watched Sunrise a 50's czech silent film. For one of my film assignments we had to find a film to rein-act we chose Pulp Fiction so I watched that. And also one of my all time favorites 50's An affair to remember.

In photoshop this week we learn more about merging images. I generally got better at it the more I did.
Below I re-discovered the cloning tool...
I then learnt how to make words with pictures...honestly cant remember how I did it though!
