ALREADY YEAR 2

Week 1 has been super intense just getting bombarded with information about what you have to achieve by the end of the year! But I love this year even more than last year already even if as Angie says were picking up gold points from day 1... it just makes me feel like I'm in a fun little game not real life...which I love!

This week I haven't done any practical work just been researching artists which we got given which relates into our next 5 week project. So the main brief is pretty vague 'WE ARE HERE'

We are suggested into looking at surroundings, observations, recordings, exploration, citizenship, location as well as
Sex
Class
Age
Race
Religion
Education
Disability

Through this I became really interested in Relational Aesthetics some examples and explanations to what it is, below

I think I love this topic so much as the raw material is as (simple) as CULTURE! It uses design and assembling qualities. It relies on the response of others pedestrians which creates great diversity in the exchange of cultural understanding. For example not everyone would draw a house the same to any other. And I think it's so important that communities recognize this and therefore reduces hatred and discrimination through misunderstanding within the area they live.
See Kim Dingle. You get what I mean!
I also love the fact that it's not about the artist as much as a painting is but rather just a catalyst to highlight an everyday moment. Its about serving the citizens getting them involved and this then gives the participants a sense of affection, control and inclusion (Shultz). This is so important to build up a loving, trusting community and this is done by not telling stories at them but with them, building relationships.
