week 6 and a half

MORE BLIND DRAWINGS- Piano performances in class and then went to a Theorbo lunchtime concert and ended up with this image above.

This afternoon I decided to use open air drying clay (a gift) and I tried to do replicas of my Inuit art sculptures I have and then took photos of them on my mirror. The intention was to look 'icy' however I really like the unintentional reflection! First attempt at ceramics!

I placed the Eskimo doll on the mirror as I was reflected in it with camera behind the doll, I scaled/positioned my self accordingly.make sense?!

Today in the Art lecture the tutors did lectures on a theme that interested them. Mandy focused on Abstraction and linking it with Figuration and found out a lot about Agnes Martin I was also interested in Prunella Clough. Interesting fact I found out in this talk is that Robyn Denny made and designed the ceramics for Oxford Circus Tube.

Petra then talked about a movement I had never even heard of Arte Povera. She mentioned Piero Manzoni, Mario Merz, video clip of Jannis Kounellis and my favourite Michelangelo Pistoletto. These artists were working in the same time period as Andy Warhol and printing his iconic soup cans, but in Europe and more personally controversial. She then mentioned that they linked and inspired famous YBA's like Tracy Emin and Cornelia Parker today. I felt I learned a lot which I guess is a good thing! I then got my assessment mark which I was very very hAppy with :)

Last week I also got my b&w film developed, the ones below worked out the best.
